4th ESO - LINGUISTIC IMMERSION IN BOURNEMOUTH (UK) - OPENING DOORS TO THE WORLD

Last March, our students in 4th ESO had the incredible opportunity to take part in a week-long language immersion programme in Bournemouth, England. As part of the school’s bilingual programme, these students were able to take full advantage of this unique opportunity thanks to their solid language foundation. 

The programme was thoughtfully designed to help students strengthen their language skills while discovering British culture. Mornings were dedicated to engaging English lessons delivered by trained teachers. Afternoons included visits to iconic landmarks such as Christchurch and Poole, as well as interactive activities like bowling, quizzes, and sports at the local leisure centre. One of the highlights was the full-day trip to London, where students explored some of the capital’s most famous sights. 

Beyond sightseeing and grammar, this experience showed students that English is more than just a school subject—it’s the language of global communication, business, science, and travel. In today’s interconnected world, English truly is the engine that drives international collaboration and opportunity. Whether talking to a tourist, applying for a job abroad, or simply enjoying a film in its original version, mastering English opens countless doors. 

By living with host families and engaging with native speakers, students gained confidence, independence, and a deeper appreciation for the importance of language learning. This trip not only improved their English, but also helped shape their view of the world.
