To kick off the school year, our 3rd Year Bilingual group took part in an English Escape Room designed to review last year’s grammar. Guided by a presentation on the screen, students had to solve six grammar challenges: present and past tenses with comparatives, future forms, conditionals, reported speech and the passive, modal verbs, and even irregular verbs with prepositions. Each correct answer revealed a key letter which, once converted into a number, gave part of a code.
When all the codes were solved, students had to enter the final password into a special dictionary that turned out to be a real safe. Only then could they complete the mission and “escape the classroom.”
Working in small groups, students combined their grammar knowledge with their problem-solving skills, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm.
The activity proved both engaging and motivating, while helping them refresh their grammar foundations before moving on to new challenges in the bilingual programme.
